Views from Balsareny Castle (Catalonia)
I took this photo while visiting Balsareny Castle. Like other medieval buildings, it was constructed at the top of a hill and the views from the castle are excellent.
It was early in the morning, and when I looked to the northeast, I saw mist rising from the Llobregat River. In that moment, I forgot about the castle and I set up my tripod to capture this amazing sunrise.
In the photo, you can see the farms and fields spread across the landscape. The white building in the scene, the “La colonia Rabeia,” is one of the textile colonies constructed on the river at the end of the 18th century that used the water to produce energy.
