Ricardo’s Wine Vats II (Catalonia)
A few weeks ago, I published another picture of these wine vats from the opposite side. In this picture, you can see the doors used by the farmers to get inside the vat and start pressing the grapes with their bare feet. From this angle, you cannot see the full height of the structure; this is only a third of the whole. The vats were built on edges to avoid moving a lot of soil. Could you imagine building these vats with no more than stones?
