Castell de Balsareny (Catalonia)
Balsareny Castle is located on a hill 420 meters high in the town of Balsareny. This fortification, which dates back to 951, is a good example of civil Gothic Catalan style. The current building, which has been excellently preserved, was built during the second half of the 14th century during the reign of Pere III the Ceremonious.
The panoramic views from the castle are excellent; from there, you can see the Llobregat River, the town of Balsareny, Montserrat, and the Pyrenées Mountains. The view is so spectacular that I plan to return to capture the surroundings in ideal lighting.
