Cala dels Frares (Lloret de Mar, Catalonia)
I found photos of this beautiful inlet while surfing the Internet and was surprised to see the location: it is just a 10-minute walk from one of the main beaches in “Lloret de Mar,” a popular holiday resort between Girona and Barcelona.
The translation for “Cala dels Frares” is something like the “Inlet of the Monks.” As far as I know, this spot has nothing to do with the religious men. I do not know the reason for this name, but perhaps it refers to the large rocks on the coastline. I only focused on one of the “monks” in this photo, but there are some more, making this a great spot for photographers. The left part of this large rock looks like a head, doesn’t it?
