GUM Shopping Mall, Moscow
I’m still getting the dust off some of my old photos. I took this one in 2013, after a World Series by Renault meeting on the Moscow Raceway. We had a few free hours before our return flight and we decided to visit the Red Square, and surrounding. This is the GUM building, today is a luxury shopping mall but originally was one of the most famous State Department Stores that were located on many Russian cities.
It is an impressive building; with a façade extending for 794 ft. (242 m) along the eastern side of The Red Square, covered by a glass-roofed design that made the building unique at the time of construction. With an elegant symmetrical interior that hovers a multitude of small shops frequented by the many city tourists.
