Besalú’s Romanesque Bridge (Catalonia)
Besalú is a beautiful town in Girona area; not far from Barcelona it’s also the perfect place from a day trip. Getting into the city the first you will notice is the Romanesque Bridge at the entrance. This bridge has been photographed from all the possible angles for the many tourist visiting the town every year… Therefore, after having a nice lunch on one of the local restaurants and visiting the streets of this medieval town with a friend, I was happy to find this spot and take my photo from there.
The bridge, which is 105 metres long and has seven arches, was built in the 11th century and is characterized for its angular form owing to the placing of the pillars over the natural stones of the river.
Have you ever visit Besalú? What do you like to most about this medieval city?
