Strolling Around Bruges Streets

Last week, I had few free hours in Brussels before my flight to home. I was planning to visit the city but a friend convinced me to go to Bruges as it was only an hour by car and the city is simple amazing.

I had less than two hours to walk around the streets but I immensely enjoyed the opportunity to take a few photos and discover a great city. This photo is almost a summary of what you can find there: nice buildings, the canals, people traveling by bike and a lot of tourist taking photos all around the streets.

Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is located in the northwest of the country. The historic city center is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as “The Venice of the North.” Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port. At one time, it was the “chief commercial city” of the world.
