Medieval Village of Peratallada (Catalonia)

This photo is from Peratallada, a medieval village in the Girona province, in Catalonia. It looks like little has changed in the urban morphology since medieval times; It is a pleasure to walk around the cobbled streets and walls of this ancient city that looks like it was taken from a fairy tale. As a curiosity, the name of the city is derived from “Pedra tallada”, meaning ‘carved stone.’ Almost all the buildings were built with stone carved from the fosse which still encircles parts of this small fortified town.

When I visited this town, I wasn’t sure about what I would find; I saw some pictures in Internet and I decided to give it a try. My only regret is not being able to visit it before now, it’s quite beautiful, I will repeat for sure. Do you like medieval towns? Do not miss this one!
